According to reuters, South Korean automaker Kia Motors is deciding to build a plant in India. This will enable the Kia motors to leverage the existing supplier base of its affiliate Hyundai Motor Co. The factory will starts production by 2019 and production capacity would be 30,000 vehicle per year.
Kia has considered three sites Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Kia official also said to reuters that they are evaluating potential location for the overseas manufacturing facilities, including India to secure additional engines for future growth. However there no concrete plans have been finalised.
